Hawaiian Inspired Filipino Asian Cuisine from the ‘Aina, for the ‘Ohana
by Chef Joey Macadangdang
From the ‘Aina
Plucked from the island’s soil and prepared by skilled hands, Joey’s Kitchen prioritizes Hawaii’s most unique and locally loved ingredients like: eggplant, okra, & long beans. Whether you’re dining in or taking your meal to-go, you’ll finish feeling nourished in both heart and body.
Chef Joey's Culinary Journey
In 2015, Chef Joey took a leap of faith to turn his dream of becoming a restaurant owner into reality. Since then, he has grown his Joey’s Kitchen brand to two successful locations, including Joey’s Kitchen Kahului at Balai Pata in Central Maui — a vibrant culinary destination blending Filipino and Spanish influences, conveniently located just minutes from the airport. The restaurant also offers catering options, bringing Chef Joey’s bold flavors to your special events and gatherings.
Macadangdang Restaurant which first opened back in 2021 is temporarily closed. Chef Joey hopes to reopen and share the Hawaiian-Filipino cuisine in the future.
Chef Joey Macadangdang spent 20 year studying the culinary art under Chef Roy Yamaguchi, who is attributed to first putting Hawaiian Fusion cuisine on the map.
For the ‘Ohana
Whether Hawaiian inspired Filipino Asian cuisine serves as part of your beloved past, present, or as a new culinary treat, Joey’s Kitchen promises a fresh bite on tried & true Hawaiian specialties. If your Ohana loved our meal, be sure to spread the Aloha!
